This section is for  our MOXY seminar people  but every body is welcome.
It is an ongoing post seminar discussion  on specific cases we  assessed  during the seminars.
. So some  questions  may sound confusing as the seminar people have   adopted some of our " languages" . If  "outsider"  have  specific questions please join in and we try as  good as possible to  integrate you in our discussions.
the  first step is a review  of 2  5/1/5  assessment   One from a seminar participant  and the other from a  world class  cyclist, who volunteered    for a 5/1/5 assessment  and live feedback.
So the first section is all about cyclic assessment for  endurance sport  options  in  the lab or in the field.
Later we will show  strength interpretation and we backed them up with direct blood sampling for different parameter like pCO2  and pO2  from the blood . pH  and lactate to name some where we  where interested in as  well as bicarbonate.
Thanks to Per  and his lab  from the Red Bull headquarter.
Here  what the  seminar people got in the mail for  our   post seminar discussion.

Here for the   non seminar readers so they can follow some of our post seminar ongoing discussion.
 Part 2.
"Hope you digested the first part and have your own zoning set up. Here the confirmation, whether we look at similar ideas."

Here our ongoing post seminar discussion.
After we  established the physiological individual zoning based on SmO2  we  could simply be happy.
Why:? because  any established current systems is NOT  able to show individual zoning. Any current system will in some cases  find an individual  point in a test like  Threshold ( if  this exists )  or a  maximal tested  HR   or a maximal tested VO2 on that  specific test day  and so on or a FTP.
So we have one  established  individual  number.
From now on  we move from physiologic to mathematics  and use a calculator to establish calculated , not physiological based  zoning.
With the  MOXY we at least establish all zoning's based on individual physiological reaction of SmO2.

This is great for starters easy fast and than easy to follow up with intensity controls during workouts based on HR SmO2  and  if possible performance feedback.

Fro us this is just the start of  individual assessments.
Now we like to see, why and what may have created the change in SmO2 trends  from increase to   flat to decrease.
So we not just look at metabolic feedback of O2  delivery and utilization trends but as well on actual delivery  trends in the assessed person.
Is there somewhere a limitation or a great situation for delivery of blood ( including O2 ) during the assessment.
Fro this information we create a Delivery " zoning  and as such  an additional information for  certain training stimuli.
Than we overlap both zoning's  and go  form there  so stay tuned.

Summary:
For personal coaches  and test / training center the  fast and easy way is using SmO2  and   create the individual zoning.
It is  easy    noninvasive  and  very individual.
Cost : same as a VO2 max or lactate assessment but  less risk of  blood contamination or  not properly cleaned  mask  and much more  and   you get an individual information for each zoning instead of a calculated  %  of  one single tested  number.
 So this is the start.
Now we can go much much further  and it starts  by   first separating O2  delivery and utilization  from blood flow  trends . So  we look at  tHb reactions. See  our seminar  day 4 post seminar discussion.
