Here a  case study  sent to us  from a very great  coach.
The coach  starts  to combine VO2 Max testing with NIRS/MOXY and we will try to help  to  close the gap  and  use  from both methods  the best  we  can get.
One   question we will keep asking is :
How much  does the  test protocol  manipulates the  physiological result. ?

So  here the first  question  to  classical  VO2 users.
What  do you do  with the  test result  VO2  max
 See below :

VO2 HR.jpg

and below  the VO2 max  results from three  rowers., one  of them is the one  above  with HR

80 % vo2.jpg
Here just  to avoid a  long discussion on VO2 max . This is a  summary of the most accepted  studies  to look for a  VO2 max plateau.
Non of them actually  showed a plateau  but   some showed  that  with  or under certain criteria  and  much of good will  you  may accept  it as a kind of a  close plateau.
The  about 10 current  " exceptions" or buts   to argue  for  a plateau  show  how desperate   some  groups were  or still are  to try to defend a theory,  so we do not have to  review  many many  VO2 max  research  ideas.

VO2 % of plateau.jpg

So    we can talk in the three tests,  what you do  with the VO2 peak  and  what this information gives you as a coach on feed backs  so you can correct  or keep going the training's ideas  you  like  to achieve.

Some small inf. Cosmed  one of te leading VO2  testing equipment  companies  added  MOXY feedback    to their  options  when looking  at VO2   information. There is a   reason  for that  and   for  any VO2  equipment owner   a hint  that they can enhance their information and feedback  ability  for their clients immensely.
We  enjoy  the combination  of VO2 feedback  and NIRS  as most  see by now  since many years  and  in any case  it will give some really nice additional help  for live as well for indirect  workout  designs.
I hope we  can engage on here some VO2  users in a  good discussion. If there is  no interest  as it looks like  I will  just internally with this coach get  in contact  and help   to  enjoy both  equipment's  with all the values   the combination  can add  to the ideas.

Agree Juerg.
VO2 test alone can give you some hints at systemic level.
The integration with NIRS (local) will give you a much better picture.
Really looking forward to see some case study with both together.

Daniele  will forward  my replies  to the  great coach  who  did  some combination of VO2  and  MOXY to you as well  so you can see  what  can be combined  and done. We have  too little feedback on here so  VO2  max users  seem  not to be  to much interested in this  topic  so no point  to spent  too much time on that  part on the  MOXY  forum.
