I've been riding with road wheels on my bike until today.  This is my first ride with the fat tires.  Not too many hills today; a few towards the end.

I had a little trouble getting the device to stay paired with with watch at first.  I was walking around near the bike while getting ready and the watch would keep going to "off".  I verified that the monitor was still "on" and it was; steady red light.

I went outside, tried pairing up on last time and it worked great!

I think I had the monitor on the vastus lateralis (not a doctor, just used wikipedia).  I usually place it a little farther back, which I've come to learn is actually the biceps femoris (hamstring muscle group).
